The body is made of swamp ash, the neck is maple, and the fingerboard is ebony, resulting in a wild, percussive, and thick, piercing tone.
The neck shape is the current standard order, Thin ’59, which transmits powerful vibrations from the neck to the ash body, giving the tone a crisp feel. The Tyler signature side scalloping, which shallowly carves the sides of the fingerboard between each fret, jumbo frets, and a 10-12R compound radius all combine to create an incredibly comfortable neck grip feel.
The weight is approximately 3.35 kg, which is light yet stable and comfortable to the body. The high quality and perfection of this performance is a status that can only be enjoyed by those who own it, just like a luxury car.
The electronics are a classic, single-single-humbucker pickup layout with a mid-boost. The neck and middle positions feature JTS5500 single pickups, while the bridge position features a SUPER humbucker. This allows for a wide range of playing, from the patina of backing guitars that supports the artist to the thick, mid-range solo tones that cut through when the moment calls for it.
It also features Tyler’s signature mid-boost, which is useful in a variety of performance situations, allowing for an even wider range of sound creation. It also features a true bypass button, allowing you to enjoy a direct passive tone without the mid-boost, and allowing for quick response in case of an unexpected battery failure during a live performance.
