The RS02CB is a faithful reproduction of the custom model that Chris has trusted and used to create his sound, from South Wales, UK, to stages around the world. Created through thorough collaboration with Chris himself and meticulous attention to detail, this guitar perfectly replicates his unique tone, feel, and character. Now, every guitarist can experience Chris’s sound.
Jointly developed P90-style custom pickups
At the heart of the RS02CB is a special P90-style pickup developed in collaboration with Chris. “There’s nothing better than the sound of this amazing P90-style pickup. It’s dynamic, responsive, and a true bridge between acoustic and electric sounds,” says Chris. This pickup, deliberately tuned to a lower output, was designed through numerous prototypes, from the number of coil windings to the selection of magnets. This results in a clear and delicate response at low volumes, and a powerful and open tone when driven. It offers a wide range of natural expressiveness that responds to the player’s touch.
Chambered body based on “Acoustic Design” The chambered body, designed using Yamaha’s unique acoustic analysis process “Acoustic Design,” achieves both improved tone and reduced weight. In addition, the carbon-reinforced neck enhances strength and stability. As a result, a guitar with excellent balance and rich resonance has been created, making it ideal for the stage.
Wrap-around bridge
The RS02CB features a wrap-around bridge inherited from Chris’s original custom model. This structure directly transmits string vibrations to the body, maximizing the instrument’s resonance. It delivers the organic response that Chris relies on in live performances, faithfully responding to the player’s touch.
A design that faithfully reproduces the custom model. The body color (honey gold), volume and tone knobs (amber hat knobs), and fretboard position markers are all faithfully reproduced from Chris Buck’s own custom model. The signature on the back of the headstock symbolizes Chris’s affection for this guitar, which has accompanied him on his travels around the world.

A guitarist who has gained worldwide acclaim for his fluid phrasing, soulful expressiveness, and unique playing style that utilizes both pick and fingerstyle. He is also widely known for his work with the band Cardinal Black. His story with REVSTAR began in 2015 when he was drawn to a REVSTAR guitar he happened to find in a local music store. The RS02CB was developed based on the custom REVSTAR model he has been using on tours and recordings around the world since 2021.
