The Gibson RD has long been a cult favorite, and Epiphone is proud to bring this classic back with the Futura RD Customa striking, modern interpretation of a design that was ahead of its time when Gibson introduced it in 1977. Blending elements of the Explorer and Firebird, the RDs distinctive silhouette is unmistakable. Its sculpted mahogany body features elegant 7-ply top binding and a contoured back for comfort. A LockTone Tune-O-Matic bridge and LockTone Stop Bar tailpiece ensure rock-solid intonation and sustain, while Posi-Lok strap buttons keep your strap secure without extra hardware. The 25.5 scale mahogany neck sports a fast-playing Modern C profile and a bound ebony fingerboard with 22 stainless steel medium jumbo frets and eye-catching Super 400-style pearloid split block inlays. A 10-14 compound radius makes chording and bends effortless, and the extended scale length is ideal for drop tunings. The 5-ply bound Kalamazoo headstock is fitted with locking Grover Rotomatic tuners, a Graph Tech nut, and mother-of-pearl Epiphone and Custom split diamond inlays.
